THE CHATEAU AND ITS WINE
Created in 1910, Château les Artigaux bears the name of one of its vineyard parcel.
The property size 30 hectares of “Graves de Vayres” divided in 25,5 hectares of Red wine and 4,5 of white wine.
The yearly production is around 1200 hectolitres for red wine and 230 hl for white wine.
The red grape variety is composed of black Merlot and cabernet sauvignon which produces fresh, fruity and robusts wines.
The white wines on their side are composed of Semillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle which produces florals and exquisite wines.
The Graves de Vayres are made of Bordeaux typical grape of wines :
For Red wines
The Merlot, which takes subtles bouquets from these gravel soils bringing to the wine its softness and its body.
The Cabernet Franc bringing finess and color.
The Cabernet Sauvignon bringing ripe fruits taste and tannins which give a good aging potential.
For White wines
The Semillon bringing strength, finess, roundness and generosity.
The Muscadelle, very perfumed, express itself through musky perfumes.
The Sauvignon is characterized through a great finess and pleasantly typed fragrances.
